We all need space; unless we have it we cannot reach that sense of quiet in which whispers of better things come to us gently…– Octavia Hill, co-founder of The National Trust
It may be difficult to pinpoint exactly why you don’t feel like yourself. Traumas past and present can arise and trouble you when you least expect them. Counselling offers the opportunity to connect with and talk about your feelings. At The Rutland Counsellor we want to change the way we talk about what it means to engage in therapy and make it more about the regular maintenance of emotional wellness. We offer a fresh, unstuffy, contemporary approach, by combining empathic and compassionate therapy with nature’s elements, on the shores of Rutland Water. We make counselling a helpful conversation with a qualified person, who’s real and gets it.
All counselling journeys start with a Pre-therapy Assessment, not as scary as it sounds. An informal conversation to talk about what you want to get from counselling, and to make sure this is the right time for you, and The Rutland Counsellor is the right fit.

Open Space therapy
Some of life’s best conversations happen on a good walk, close to nature. Open Space therapy combines connecting with your feelings and connecting with nature. 50-minute, Open Space therapy sessions are taken at your pace around Hambleton Peninsula with places to pause and reflect along the way.
